Bunion
A bunion is a bony bump on the side of the "big" toe caused by a misalignment of the toe's main joint. Bunions are often painful and can make wearing some shoes difficult. When the problem becomes severe, surgery can be performed to re-align the bone and remove the bump. A screw or pin is often used to stabilize the bone while it heals.
