Arthritis in the Foot and/or Ankle
Arthritis or degenerative joint disease is characterized by pain and stiffness in the toes, foot or ankle. The cartilage between the bones wears out, allowing the ends of the bone to rub together, which can cause bone spurs and/or pain. Treatment may involve removing the spurs, fusing the joint or replacing the joint. Return to Podiatry |
